However, Vista to 10 have some problems regarding FPS drops and certain Mouse Keyboard setups. This is because they use the drivers different compared to Windows XP.
The fix is to disable HID devices in the device manager in Windows.
And no, there is NO other way to fix this, beside using Windows XP.
Most people just disable all or try to figure out which devices exactly causing this problems.
I could pinpoint it to 2 devices in my case. No clue if its always 2 or more or less.
And I also dont know if they are always at the same place. What I noticed though that maybe certain vendor models are the reason for this. Logitech many people say is the reason, however, I personally can tell that there are more. Like Sharkoon.
Here is a screenshot of the ones I had to disable, maybe its similar ot the same for others:

Also here are more problems:
The Steam version seems to miss some files like sounds. Train sounds for example are missing completely. I fixed this with using the CondemnedA.Arch00 file from the DVD release and replacing it. Since you seem to have both K4SP4R it should be easy for you to fix this.
There is no download yet for it. The file is roughly 6gb big anyway.
Also some users reporting problems with no text in the game. I couldnt reproduce it or had this issue. No fix available.
Also, similar to the Mouse and Keyboard driver problem, EAX support is missing for F.E.A.R. and Condemned on Windows Vista to 10. Both run on the same engine. The fix is to use sound driver programs like Alchemy to fix it. If you cant use the program or dont have a specific vendor soundchip you can use Directsound to at least enable Basic EAX support in the game. This might only work partly. Also Advanced EAX is not usable with it.
Another way to fix this is using Windows XP.
And the last problem: The Engine cant activate soft shadows and FSAA at the same time.
It disables soft shadows and enables FSAA if used ingame. The fix is to use Nvidia Inspector and force Anti Aliasing with a specific combability ID to force it over the driver. It doesnt work by default and causes graphic glitches. You can find a tutorial for this in the web. I dont think its possible on AMD cards, no clue though.
I realize this is an old post but I thought I'd post this guide here anyway (for anyone on this thread who doesn't own the retail game): http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=629312845
Initially it seemed this was exclusive to Windows 10 but some 10 owners have no issues whilst some on 7 report that they have the issue. Oleander007 (on Windows 7) said turning off EVGA PrecisionX 16 fixed this and then assumed it might be related to an overlay program of some sort:

Btw. great summary LucYfer.
Is anyone else having this problem and is there a solution?
I hate it when I have to sign out and in just to fix crashed fullscreen games.
I had that problem already quite a few times. Not with Condemned though.
Sorry but I dont know how to fix it. Do you have latest drivers and DirectX installed?
Also try to maybe delete your games config files. Maybe they are broken.
