Tips for combat?

i used to have this game on 360 but gave up because the combat was too hard for me, got stuck on the same guy for about 30 minutes and never went back to it. Is there a good run down of how blocking works and how you should move while fighting? Like otherwise i loved the game to death just this aspect completely kept the rest of the game from me.

Been playing it now on easy, cant beat the first level :/ I keep getting my ass kicked.

Well combat isn't that difficult, just watch some random Youtuber's videos of it and they seem to have no problems. Hell i've only died once and i'm already 5 or 6 levels into the game and it was from some op guy wielding 2 bars. Just don't rush into addicts when you're clubbing them to death, they'll usually swing pre-emptively and after you hit them. You can also taser them (middle mouse) by default and it charges fast which makes fights really easy. The game likes to hide guns lots too, so use those if you're bad at brawls, guns can be found in hidden areas after Level 1.
