How do you open DDS files from this game?

Man I tried a few plugins with GIMP2, multiple DDS viewers, even tried to convert the DDS files to jpeg but it all failed.

Has anyone been able to ever open these?

Try WTV - Windows Texture Viewer. Should do the trick. It can view textures from F.E.A.R. hence should be able to open DDS files from this game.

Thanks man but that didn't work either. ♥♥♥♥... One guy was able to open them cuz he made that Neural Origins mod.

Not sure what kind of compression these .dds files have but it is not recognized by anything...

Could you upload a few textures on google drive or something? Just curious.
Your only hope then is Photoshop version CS5+ with Nvidia DDS Plugin.

Can't view or open in Photoshop any of those. Tried a couple of online converters and they all failed. That's weird. Might be some unusual parsing or something.
The best bet would be to contact RidiculousDeath on Nexus, but since he just ESRGAN'd the textures, he might not know what's going on.

Just so you know, the DDS files in Condemned are encrypted. You need to change the file header if you want to open these. It's a pain in the ♥♥♥, but doable. They aren't your average DDS and contain extra information in the headers. I think my buddy wrote a script for it, I'll link it if I can find it.

Has anyone figured this out yet? Most of them seem to have a "TEXR" header instead of the normal one if that helps. Figured this out while trying to fix the game.
