sadly while waiting for someone to tell a fix for this, it's been over two weeks. I've already tried. I bought this when it was on sale so it's not that big of a deal but I do want to play it. At least I didn't lose that much money on it.

Same for me, I cant get the game to run, I get the black screen and it gets control over everything and it's not a problem of computer quality, I guarantee you, I run all kind of games at max without any kind of problem

edit: compatibility mode XPsp3 fixed mouse cursor (on my system)
edit2: reproduced your problem (black screen)
when you click "play" choose "configure, choose resolution, click "save" and run game.
choose another resolution if still black screen.

For anyone here that is experiencing this issue with the game not booting up correctly (stuck in a black screen with a loading icon). simply find the local game file --> right on the condemned game icon, go to properties --> switch to the Compatibility tab --> enable "Disable full screen optimization". Also note that I running my game in compatibility mode with Windows XP service pack 2. Hope this helps people here!

sadly this hasent worked for me , even xp pack 2 and tuning off full screen op it still has me stuck on the black screen . i figured it would be easier to get this on sale for like 1.50$ but apparently i shoulda just got a f**king rom -_- so pissed
