Condemned: Criminal Origins

Condemned: Criminal Origins

Was This Suppose to be a FEAR Sequel?
I just started playing today and it unfortunately reminds me of FEAR, it looks exactly the same. Problem is while FEAR was fast paced and had pretty good movement, this game feels slow and my character is stuck in mud. I overall can't say too much about the gameplay because I haven't put in enough time but the look, the graphics, the sounds....its basically FEAR.

After playing through FEAR and its DLC a year ago I got tired of looking at the same bland office buildings, abandoned buildings, industrial complexes, etc....I'm hoping that Condemned is not an endless trek through the same environment....peeling paint, busted walls, concrete, broken pipes, etc.....if so I FEAR I might not see it through to the end.

Same developers, same engine. If I'm not mistaken they were developing this game along with FEAR. Well this game isn't FEAR however, so it feels different in terms of gameplay. The slow paced one.

There are some easter eggs from FEAR in Condemned. The most obvious one are the chips bags from Norton Mapes from FEAR that are littered all over the metro station.

FEAR is a shooter. This isn't. There isn't a whole lot of shooting. It's more of a survival horror type game

It's just dull, the environment, graphics don't help

I like Condemend far more than FEAR. Just wish Condemend was a few levels longer.

No. Also it plays completely differently. No slowmo, no stockpiling medkits, and you pretty much use sticks you pull of the wall almost all the time. Also, you get an air taser.

Obviously there's something wrong with the OP if he was expecting an environment that isn't "dull" in both games that take place in gritty, urban environments.

the "feels slow" and "stuck in mud" problem is due to playing higher then with a 60Hz monitor OR 60 FPS. i was not able to set FPS limit (in nvidia settings for example), it just doesnt work at all. Game after limiting your Monitor HZ rate ofc still isnt the fastest, but the getting stuck and feeling extreamly slow while walking up stairs, looking up or down or over debris is gone then.

I may be 6 years late to this thread but I need to say, this game runs circles around that average at best series FEAR which is a FPS..... Is resident evil silent hill? No, they are different games to anyone who gives them a serious go.

Games that came out in the launch era of the 360. They weren't exactly lookers. By the end of the 360 era it was almost a generational leap in itself if you compare late games to launch titles
