The Gear 360 ActionDirector you owned is Samsung hardware bundle (OEM) version software which is exclusively customized and optimized for Samsung Gear 360 camera.
It supports the Gear 360's video/photo stitiching to generic equirectangular format that is sharable and compatible to play back on 3rd-party video platform (e.g. Facebook, YouTube)
The ActionDirector 2 retail vesion supports generic stitched (equirectangular format) 360 video clips editing with several action video editing tools, but does NOT support the spherical 360 video/photo stitching to generic equirectangular format.

The major feature difference is that OEM version has stitching for the target bundle hardware (Gear 360 camera), another one does NOT have it.
