What's the difference between this version and the one bundled with the Gear 360?
Hi,

I have the version of Action Director bundled with Gear 360. Would like to know what's the difference between this version and the one that I have. And whether it's a worthy upgrade.

Will be using it mostly to process 360 footage as the current version doesn't seem up to par.

Thanks!

Hi rankorth,

The Gear 360 ActionDirector you owned is Samsung hardware bundle (OEM) version software which is exclusively customized and optimized for Samsung Gear 360 camera.
It supports the Gear 360's video/photo stitiching to generic equirectangular format that is sharable and compatible to play back on 3rd-party video platform (e.g. Facebook, YouTube)

The ActionDirector 2 retail vesion supports generic stitched (equirectangular format) 360 video clips editing with several action video editing tools, but does NOT support the spherical 360 video/photo stitching to generic equirectangular format.

The major feature difference is that OEM version has stitching for the target bundle hardware (Gear 360 camera), another one does NOT have it.
You may check the ActionDirector 2 trial version before purchasing for further detail:
