How to switch characters?
I've unlocked a few but I'm still playing the one I started with. I have no clue how to switch to the other ones. Is there a manua? I'd be happy to read it.

Start a new game, or join another ongoing multiplayer game

Doesn't that cause me to lose all my progress? I know I keep my spells and staves and levels.

Unfortunately, for now, yes.

There is a workaround though, if you want to resume that in singleplayer later: get the name of your current stage in singleplayer.

If you want to "resume" your singleplayer campaign, basically you can later find a multiplayer game happening on that stage you were and join it. Then you can exit to main menu, disconnect from internet, and "resume" the game, to go into singleplayer on that exactly stage you were!

If you don't find exactly the stage on any games, you can pick one game with a stage near it, so you won't have to start from the beggining at least.

I suggest starting from the beggining with a new character, because of xp and having less spells. You have to play with the character and gain xp, lso get the spells from parchments. Starting over is how it should be.

Just an update for anyone that may have the same question, how to switch chars when you're in a multiplayer game:

1. Have at least one other person in your game. Now you both have the game saved.
2. Leave the MP game and start a new single player game, pick your char, reset your skill points at the fountain if you want.
3. Delete your copy of the saved MP game by going to Resume, finding it, and deleting it.
4. Have the other player resume the MP game.
5. Join their game. You will now get to choose your char and spells.

I really like this trick! I had a friend that tried to switch characters because he didn't end up liking what he had started with, and we didn't want to start over completely, so after some failed attempts, he just quit for the night. I will definitely tell him about this later and see how it works out the next time something that like happens for us. Thanks for the tip!

It sounds like this game is broken

Not really, it's just that it was designed as a roguelite experience but changed later, so some parts of its designed weren't optimized for a different experience. And of course, allowing people to change character freely could end up also hurting the "parchments" mechanic for unlocking spells, letting people randomize it way too much to get specific spells they want. Pretty much like having a level selection, this would also end up reducing replayability.
