There is a workaround though, if you want to resume that in singleplayer later: get the name of your current stage in singleplayer.
If you want to "resume" your singleplayer campaign, basically you can later find a multiplayer game happening on that stage you were and join it. Then you can exit to main menu, disconnect from internet, and "resume" the game, to go into singleplayer on that exactly stage you were!
If you don't find exactly the stage on any games, you can pick one game with a stage near it, so you won't have to start from the beggining at least.
1. Have at least one other person in your game. Now you both have the game saved.
2. Leave the MP game and start a new single player game, pick your char, reset your skill points at the fountain if you want.
3. Delete your copy of the saved MP game by going to Resume, finding it, and deleting it.
4. Have the other player resume the MP game.
5. Join their game. You will now get to choose your char and spells.
I really like this trick! I had a friend that tried to switch characters because he didn't end up liking what he had started with, and we didn't want to start over completely, so after some failed attempts, he just quit for the night. I will definitely tell him about this later and see how it works out the next time something that like happens for us. Thanks for the tip!
