Hi I just bought this game on steam, was trying to play duo with a friend she was hosting. The first problem is that we can't continue progress when hosting a game or whatever, but I heard that will be fixed soon. Please fix this! The second problem happened twice, the first time we played we finished a level but it would not let me press 'enter' to continue, it was just stuck on the character stats page. And then it happened to my friend the second time we tried playing it. So I guess I will just play solo for now but please fix these things I really like this game
When playing co-op locally, sometimes cant progress past the level complete screen when a controller (any of the players) wont allow imput, happened twice in a row after unlocking a character. Had to restarted a previous checkpoint each time and still failed at the ending screen.

Atm it only saves singleplayer progress sadly, the devs are working to fix it asap, they expect early january
seriously? early Jan, wow.

Really hoping they will just add some kind of workaround soon because this does kinda destroy the co-op :(

Sorry to hear that you're having issues with our game!

This sounds like the game does not know how to open using the right resolution. Unfortunately I'm not completely sure where the options.txt file is when playing the game from GOG, but I recommend copying the following to your explorer:
<etc>

A friend wasn't able to load the game at all to even generate that file. I actually had to buy it just to generate low-spec settings to send over. She almost refunded it instead, so I'd say this is pretty critical to get a day-one fix for, or at least make a news post with a low-spec options.txt included for people to download.

Sometimes on completing a level in a private multiplayer game, my friend and I are unable to continue. Pressing enter does not do anything. I can still access the menus though.

The bug is caused by unlocking a new character. The player who unlocked the character can't progress past the end screen.

For Internet co-op - Usually you can access the esc menu - and leave game.. then click 'join game' (not choose) in multiplayer to rejoin a game at that level/point. Usually this'll get you back into your internet game.. Sometimes the server hamsters have heart attacks and it won't let you back in (we're busy, try again later).. in this case, you're screwed.

For Local Co-op.. exit the game/restart it.. and start a single player game(Click resume game). Then have your local-co-op people press start or .. spacebar? to join into the game. It should let you start the next level no problem.

This has happened at the end of levels without unlocking charatcers unfortunately, it will go to the end of level screen but one player cant push anything, even restarting it can happen several times in a row, but unlocking the character will always make it do this.
Custom keybinds revert to their default settings when you close the game.
Game literally has a game-breaking bug that multiple people that have reported. I didn't spend money to sit here and not play the game.
Keybinds between keyboard and controller don’t work. I have an Xbox controller plugged in and when I leave and rejoin a game it seems like random chance which control input it switches too. Changing in the menu doesn’t work. I have to leave and rejoin until I get lucky.
The chapter "春日微光" have a bug. When I play with friend be defeated by a monster at drawbridge. We revival and cant get on drawbridge. The drawbridge is still here.Cant take me go on the chapter "春日微光".
I lost my stage progress in singleplayer.

Started a multiplayer match after just getting the 8th partchment, played it until we got the 9th partchment, then I got stuck (for unlocking a costume) and had to leave.

Started in singleplayer, carried on and played more until I got to "How About a Cart Ride". Played the whole level almost, until I found the character quest statue, and noticed I should have brought the "box" from the beggining to start the Amadeus quest... tried to get back but couldn't. Left to main Menu, then the "Resume" option disappeared... goodbie Amadeus for me... lost a few hours in the process as well.
bug: no online games found. I disabled firewall. Still...no online games found.

bug2: keyboard changes do not save after game restart.
Is it a bug or a feature that I cannot start an online game solo?

Having issues starting the game?

1. Check the Game's Files
You can do this by verifying the game cache or by reinstalling the game, which should make sure the problem isn't with the game's local files. Here is how to do the earlier through Steam:
right-click on Nine Parchments in your Steam Library → click on Properties → choose the local files tab → click the button to verify integrity of game cache

2. Launch the Game's .exe
Please try to launch the game's .exe file through the game's installation folder, its path is the following depending on where you have installed Steam. You could also try to right-click the file and run it as administrator.

...\Steam\steamapps\common\Nine Parchments\nineparchments_64bit.exe

If you have any trouble with finding the file, you can navigate to the installation folder through Steam by following the instructions below:
right-click on Nine Parchments in your Steam Library → click on Properties → choose the local files tab → click the button to browse local files

3. Update Your Operating System
Please check that your operating system, graphics card drivers and PhysX are up to date. You can find the latest version of PhysX through this link[www.nvidia.com]

Please also note that it's best to restart your computer if you update any of these.

4. Check Open Programs
Unfortunately it's not uncommon that antivirus or other security programs sometimes interfere with any game's files, so please check this isn't the case with Nine Parchments. You could just in case add Steam and the game to your security program's exceptions.

Please also see you don't have any other programs open that could interfere with the game, for example overlay programs such as Raptr or Xfire.

"Failed to create render target" error message

Unfortunately it seems that there is an error when the game tries to automatically set your resolution. We'll definitely look into this, but in the meanwhile you can set the resolution manually from the options.txt file. You can find it by copying the following to your Explorer: %appdata%/NineParchments

Open the file and look for the following lines. Set them to match your screen.
setOption(renderingModule, "ScreenWidth", 1920) setOption(renderingModule, "ScreenHeight", 1080)
I think above should already help, but if not, you need to change the game to windowed. Look for these lines and set them to match the following
setOption(renderingModule, "Windowed", true) setOption(renderingModule, "WindowTitleBar", false)

This workaround is valid for Steam and GOG.

If the game does not generate options.txt file, email us as we will send you one. You can reach us from support [at] frozenbyte [dot] com.
