Matris
Suggestion for mouse control
Is it possible to get an option where the current piece is always on the mouse cursor, in a fixed default orientation? Players would rotate the piece by pressing a key, move the piece simply by moving the mouse, and place the piece simply by left-clicking. I think this would be quicker, more responsive, and more intuitive than the current mouse control schemes. For example, because the pieces would have a default orientation, players could pre-rotate the piece (if needed) while moving it into position, and place it quicker. Just a suggestion, I don't know how much work it would be to implement.

I am really enjoying this game by the way. Thanks!

Hi. I had a major PC crash and couldn't answer earlier.

I tried that metod first but it wasnt as smooth. It was playable but it was nowhere near the speed and flow of the current method. I added the current method and tested it among some people and decision was that the second method was better. It takes a couple minutes to get used to but once you get it it's much smoother than rotating fixed piece. That rotating fixed piece method is used in similar puzzle game - chime and you can see on some videos that it's not as smooth. Now 99% of the time you need to click on two blocks (only the T piece is different that sometimes it needs additional rotation) having pattern of each piece in mind.

But even if I wanted to change the method at this point it would mean rebuilding a lot of stuff, the whole core mechanics basically, and to add it as an alternative method it would be even more difficult.

I'm glad you like the game. Cheers ;)
