After a long break I picked up the game again. Is there a way to preview abilities range before actually moving? I'm not sure what V is doing...
And how to inspect enemies masteries? I'm having bad surprises rushing bosses.

For range preview, press V, then select one of your abilities. As you move your mouse around it'll show your attack range as a red outline from wherever your mouse is hovering.
For enemy inspection, click the enemy in normal gameplay then either press i or click the magnifying glass in the top right. You need to have a certain amount of info on the enemy first by killing them before it'll work. If you have Kylie with Search Protocol, or another way of inflicting Detected, you can bypass the information requirement and inspect them no matter what.
When you enter the 'combat preview' (v), you can hover over a square to see your line of sight shown by the dashed white lines. If you select an ability you can see the target range in a different color.
- Do note that if you're selecting an aoe attack that has you aim at a specific space, you'll only see the locations of targetable squares, which may be different from the targets you can effect. So you won't see which enemies you can hit through walls with 'sweeping fire', for example. And Ray's abilities can hit a little further.
- On the other hand, aoe abilities which center on your own space, such as 'shooting spree', will show you the area to be hit. These will have different colors and styles of lines which may make it easier to remember.

Other fun things about combat preview: if you select another unit you can enter their visibility check which will show you their line of sight instead of your own. This can help in staying out of Irene's view to trigger hero or for 'chasing a herd', 'quick grasp of the situation', or similar masteries. But remember that if an enemy enters a combat state afterwards they'll move and their sight range will increase.
You'll also see tiles with crossed sword icons on them. I THINK this means that tile can be targeted by enemies that are in a combat state and that your units can see, but I'm not sure. Someone else feel free to confirm or correct that.

To inspect enemy masteries you either need to have enough information on them (you don't need FULL information, but I'm not sure how much you do) or they need to have the 'detected' debuff (the easiest way is probably with Kylie's 'search protocol'. I'm not sure if it's possible before you recruit her). If they meet one of these, you can check them with 'character info' (i). This works in challenge mode as well.

Those tiles are the enemy team's vision from all the units that you can see. Staying out of those tiles is a good way to keep backline units safe, or triggering masteries like Camouflage that rely on you being unseen.
Thanks guys!
I took a bit of a break too and...is there not a way to target enemies with abilities with your mouse...?
You can click on the portrait in the middle of the screen. I don't think there's a way to click on the unit on the map (which would be nice for that one quest to destroy all the disabled drones), but I could be wrong.
