the real building someone to a monster starts at max lvl once you have more skills from the harder enemies that you will encounter or from farming bosses for them
Which?

Oh and to answer your question at Level 43 you should already have access to these mastery sets:
Bloodbath
Traces of Blood
Sword of Protection
Retaliation
These masteries will make the game easy mode for Albus until you go to the Draki Nests and 46V Magenta. The most important are the first two sets but you will also want the last two if you are going for a counter build -- which you probably will because you probably haven't farmed Luna yet for Catharsis at this point. You can certainly do this though and use Catharsis + Bloodbath + Traces of Blood for the Albus Blender build.
Trying to upgrade every character to level 48 or sth there.
After a while, the challenge become soloing Cruel+Challenge with Anne
Then Faithful Supporter and Treasury of Knowledge is your friend. You can get to max level in very short order with these mastery sets. When you start collecting beasts this is how you will be powerleveling them to 50 in just a couple of hours or so.
Getting a Best to 50 should take something like 10-15 minutes (spread between 3/4 sessions)
