Okay, gentlemen, before you bring back burning at the stake for the Devs, please understand that while I am interested in this game and will someday purchase it, I can understand the frustration people have.

That being said, criminal DRM isn't a real thing ,so please don't get that angry about it. Star Force wasn't even that bad and it destroyed people's CDrom/DVD drives.

People claim it's a rent for the servers, but that's never been the case of any game ever to my knowledge.
Every game that requires always online that has died in popularity, always releases it's stuff to full offline mode.
Heck, Valve itself even has a plan in case everything goes wrong with Steam.
So, please believe me, there's not been any case of a game not fixing the problem of always online if it dies.

Also, I dare say multiple games don't ever die to the point where that's a threat. Running a server for a game doesn't require money overwhelming. You don't need to power the building with it's own nuclear power plant. :)

And considering people are working on minitature nuclear power plants, well, that wouldn't be an issue soon.

Hello.

We, developers are also gamer and totally agree with you.
If (really if) we can't provide online service anymore, Providing offline mode will be our top priority.

But we want to go with you all and develop 'Troubleshooter' joyfully.

Thank you.

Was going to buy until I saw "Always on Line". On line is not needed for updates and such, you're on Steam for cry'n out loud.

Well, the previous posters saved me from spending.

Gonna pass.

It has nothing to do with updates though, so your complaint is rather superflurious.

Ah. I was not aware of that game. Thank you.
I guess this does prove the adage about there being an exception to the rule.

I was considering buying this unil i read about this ridiculous requirement. I'm sad to miss out on this game but if thats what the devs planned for this game i want nothing to do with it.

I'm a volunteer and I want to translate the game into Russian
Hey guys!
I want to become a volunteer, localize and translate game texts into Russian.
You already support Korean and English. You have mechanisms to add new languages.

I offer free translation and adaptation of game texts from English into Russian.
You provide game texts in English in any format convenient for you.

Experience:
Final Fantasy IX (247,437 words, 100%) - Coordinator, Editor, Translator
Final Fantasy XIII (126,698 words, 100%) - Coordinator, Editor, Translator
Final Fantasy XIII-2 (327,289 words, 80%) - Coordinator, Editor
Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition - Translator

If you and your players like the translation, you can add our team to the credits. Or not, as you wish.
If in the future you want to order professional localization, we have nothing against it.

We can begin to localize now, while the game doesn't have a lot of text, and regularly publish the finished fragments, as well as translate new texts together with the release of new content.

Wow! we didn't expect this scenario. You really made us surprise.

Russian translation? Absolutely great. We'll consider the interface for you. But there's so many things to do and we don't have certain that it will be done right away. When we are ready, we'll touch you.

Thank you very much.

This looked like a perfect game to play on the long train trip to work... until I found it was online only. :(

I guess I'm in the minority though, since most people play when they're online and never notice.
Engine?
Just out of curiosity I was wondering what engine this was made in. I'm hoping to become a developer and for the moment I'm still learning C# so I'm curious if it's Unity (Which will be my focus) or if it's Unreal? It looks very similar to X-COM in varous aways so I'm assuming Unreal in which case it just makes this game even more of a stunning achievement as, despite how well Firaxis has done, Unreal is usually geared for FPS games.

Troubleshooter uses OGRE3D with various open source. Thank you.
