Luck Mastery - too late
Right now, I'm in Chapter 4, have character level 32 and all special classes unlocked with Anne. But I still can't research two of her class masteries, because I'm lacking the Luck Mastery.
As far as I know, you can get it somewhere in chapter 3, but I didn't find it. Maybe I had bad luck.

It's a bit frustrating to have class masteries unlocked but not be able to research them for a long time.
Would it be possible to implement another method to acquire Luck mastery besides from enemies? For example you discover it after you have successfully dodged 200 times or 10 times in a row?

I unlocked it for Researching, after I 100%d the boss in "With All Your Heart" case (first story mission of chapter 4).
So I'm guessing if you 100% an enemy that has it in drop table, you unlock it for research aswell.

You can also get [Luck] from Nevil in the level 15 violent case, Magenta Back-streets. Since he's a boss character that has a set location on the map, filling out his information to max wouldn't take you very long. Once it's filled out, you'll be able to research the [Luck] mastery! You may also receive as a drop before then, too.

thanks for the info. I think I go with Nevil.

But there's still a problem escpecially with new players. I have no clues where to find a given mastery. I have to depend on external help (guides, forum).
1. can't search the troublemaker entries for a specific mastery
2. even if I could I have to unlock the mastery display first. I have met Nevil once and therefore see only ??? where the mastery names are. So I must do the mission at least twice.

I admit that finding masteries is a bit of an issue. as the mastery database as you said, only shows masteries that you know. I do think this is a bit unfair, as it does mean people resorting to guides most of the time to find out who drops what, even then it takes several meetings for the mastery information to show up. Even then as you say, there is no search. That would be really useful, also for weapons and items.

I think some improvements could be made here. I think all masteries should be shown but with padlocked / red until you get them. maybe seeing masteries on the troubleshooter lust could be unlocked sooner? but a search feature should be added. I dont know, but I think its a bit too easy to miss masteries, when you are unaware of who drops what.

old but helpful

The information here is out of date. You can now, in fact, search the troublemaker entries for a specific mastery, which invalidates the original premise of this topic.

Just checked and I have a similar issue, and searching for "Luck" doesn't help either because it does not show up in the list anyway (I guess until you gather enough information about someone with that mastery).

I suggest checking out the guides here on Steam.

That brings us back to using external sources to obtain even basic character builds.

Now its middle of chapter 5 and I'm still lacking Trace On to make magical duplication for my battle mages, I guess its time for another dive in steam guides or wiki entries.
Thanks for the link btw, I think I used the worse one last time.

Have to admit, without those guides life would be a lot more difficult.
Maybe a potential solution would be to allow searching for unknown masteries. This way if you know which mastery you're missing, you can get it through the criminal information system without needing to search into the guide. And if you don't, you can still discover it naturally through a drop or the same information system.

Im not hundred percent sure if this will help, because I never hunt masteries, just use what I already have. I know Kylie Zu has luck on her basic mastery called "Fighting against Faith" so thats maybe a way to obtain it. Im not sure if this is something you can do on the early missions where you have her as an extra team member from the Police.

I know on the quest you obtain her, one of the enemies also have Luck, so thats something I guess.

No need to guess. Just look at the guide I posted.

Yeah I checked the guide and then just went ahead with merciless missions, got Luck from one of the minibosses in 'em.
Now I still am missing some stuff, but its way down the line of research, so I'd rather just play with the cards I've been dealt.
