How to fix the NAT Error
I guess many of you have the same issue as I have.
When you try to play online with your friends you either can't open up a game because of your NAT settings, or you can't connect to your friends.
I already tried the official support side without any help

I want to help you guys with that problem, but I only have a solution that is tidious.

--

What you need to fix it:
Access to your router. If you don't have access, ask your parents. If you don't know how to access, just continue reading.

Step 1: Accessing your router

Press the Windows + R key. A windows will open. Now type "cmd" and press enter.
A black window will open up. Type "ipconfig" and press enter. It will now display many different things. Search for "Default gateway". Copy the adress that is displayed there. (Also copy your own IPv4 address!)

Now open up a browser and enter the IP adress, and again press enter.
The site will now ask for your username and password.

If you don't know the username and password, aswell as your parents, you should google the default username and password for your router! When your parents didn't change it, it will possibly work with the default username and password.

It doesn't work and your parents don't know it either? Then try and contacting your ISP, maybe they can help.

You can't access it because your parents won't tell you the username and password? Then I'm sorry, but you won't be able to fix it.

Step 2: Checking your NAT settings

Under the tab "Data" you will find the sub-category "NAT" (At least for me. Every interface is different, so try and search for it!).

When you click on it, you can select "Port Forwarding" or something like that. Once you selected it, you can add a new entry.

Now you need to type in the IP address of your PC that you copied earlier. After you typed in your ip adress you can select TCP.

Now you have to type in the ports that you want to forward. The ports that you need are:

TCP: 80, 443, 14000, 14008, 14020, 14022, 14027, 14028, 14043

TCP: 80, 443, 13000, 13005, 13200, 14000, 14001, 14008

Once entered everything, you can activate and save it.

Step 3: Enable UPnP

Before you exit your browser, you still need to check if UPnP is enabled!
For me it is under the category "Extras". If you don't have that category, just try to search for it.
Once found make sure you enable it!

Step 4: Still does not work? Here is the annoying part!

If you are someone like me, who has forwarded the ports and enabled UPnP but still can't get this to work, here is a solution that I found:

1. Make sure to close Steam, UPlay and UNO if open!

2. Access your router again with the method I told you earlier.

3. Go to the UPnP Settings.

4. Deactivate UPnP and save.

5. Activate UPnP again and save.

6. Open up UNO, it should for now again.

If the error accurs again, you have to do this again and again. This is the only known way to fix it.

I hope this thread helped you in some way. If I missed something, you have questions or you have found a error in my explanation, please let me know!

Well done thanks!

also, people who use gnat grades like 4g and 5g can't play the game unless they are using a VPN (that supports p2p connection)

Thanks for confirming the above has helped you guys!

@xMaxrayx - a VPN shouldn't be required to play, so we'd like to look into this further.

When using a VPN are you connected to the same country or elsewhere?

this game unplayable on "cgnat" tybe of network like 4g/5g when you hotspot the internet from your mobile to your laptop.
the only way to solve it is to use VPN that supports p2p connection (not all VPN support it).

Hey there,

Thank you for your update.

I understand why you are using a VPN when playing using a 4g or 5g connection, it is great to hear that this has helped you. We however are unable to recommend them as a solution and would always recommend to connect to a network such as a home WiFi where possible.

Thank you once again for sharing your experience.

Do I need to enter every TCP number separately? I don't understand that part

Hi SneakyTurtle,

Entering the TCP varies between routers. Some routers you may have to enter them individually, however some will let you choose the range. For example 80 to 14043.

For further assistance with this I would recommend contacting your internet service provider.

Yeah sorry for not typing down a guide for every possible router model and OS.
But it helped some people in the 6 1/2 years that post is up.

Since you seem to have that problem [or else you wouldn't be here], just look up how you can do it in your own Router OS. You can do it bud!

Steam relay p2p meanwhile this game use your ip without relay.

Apparently I need to have a public IP or VPN in order for this to work due to how my ISP set things up? And it might cost me money?! I haven't ever run into this problem in any other game! Now I can't even use the Uno Flip theme that I just bought because I can't host my own online lobby.
