Progress got set back?
I've finally started this game after a long time of absence, and all my progress regarding level and medals is set back to zero.
Kinda bummed out since I spent a lot of time to get these.
Did this occur to anyone else and is there a fix or do I have to live with it?

Hello Myerskatze, sorry to hear your in-game progress was lost.

We are not aware of this being an issue in the game at the moment, have you changed computers since you last played the game, uninstalled the game at anypoint, or anything that might have reset your progress where it may have been linked to your game files?

Yes, I've changed computers, so that might be the issue. Thought this stuff was saved in the Ubisoft Connect/Steam-Cloud. Nothing that's very bad, just a bit unfortunate since I spent so much time on this.

Thanks for the quick reply :)

Thank you for the reply Myerskatze.

How progress is saved depends on the game - sometimes progress is saved to an actual save file on the hard drive under a .sav, .state or .profile file, sometimes it is saved on a games dedicated server or your Ubisoft account.

I checked both installations of Uno on Steam and on Connect and I don't believe the game uses cloud saves, which means the game progress would be saved to a file on your computer or perhaps tied to your Ubisoft account.

Have you always used the same Ubisoft and Steam ID/accounts to play the game?

My rank and medals got reset, also. I never touched my steam commons folder, or uninstalled it. This is lame, cause all my progress is gone, and no one barely plays the game now.

Hey there,

Sorry to hear that you have lost progress in game.

Can I check when it was that you last remember having this progress?

Many thanks,

Over 6 months ago. I barely touch Uno now. Sorry that I don't check my steam notifications. I only played it recently, cause my friend wanted to play it.

Thanks for letting us know Carl, as you didn't mention switching computers or touching any save or installation files, this could have been caused by a recent update to the game.

I will report this to our Uno team so they are aware of this. I apologize there is nothing I can suggest to do that would return your medals.

There is a program called 'Windows back up' tool that can be useful for reverting save files and any other files to previous versions, but its not something I recommend doing if the last time you played the game was 6 month ago.

I will let our Uno team know of this issue with medals, thank you.

Actually my Dude/Mam, he did say he switched computers:
Yes, I've changed computers, so that might be the issue. Thought this stuff was saved in the Ubisoft Connect/Steam-Cloud. Nothing that's very bad, just a bit unfortunate since I spent so much time on this.

So, his saved profile was indeed on his old PC/HD.
Guess then you did not NEED to be online to play and save progress?

I didn't get a new computer in over 8 years, and for my HDD i never got a new one in over 3. i rarely uninstall my games, or touch anything.

Hey Carl,

We do have some steps to assist in recovering save files available here[www.ubisoft.com], however can't guarantee they'll be applicable here as it's been some time since you last played.

It may also be possible that the local save had become corrupted at some point too.

Sorry we're unable to provide more insight on this, but please let us know if you do have any more questions!
