Great to see you're up and running Def128.
Has anyone else since had success connecting even if temporarily?
Or had success with VISAAA's suggestion?

In another thread, a player reported disabling their mic also solved an issue, so we'll be passing all this information on internally to help us get this investigated.
If anyone else is having issues with crashes when connecting to multiplayer, please let us know, and try (temporarily) disabling your sound input and output devices to see if this allows the multiplayer to work without crashing.
Let me know if I can clarify how to go about that!

Thank you for your updates, it is great to hear that the workaround has helped you both.
If ever there is anything else we can help with in the future just let us know as we will be more than happy to help.

I did some research and landed here to get some help.
I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game which unfortunately didn't work.
I saw that someone suggested to disable the playback device and the microphone in "Windows Sound Settings".
So I disabled my headset's sound and microphone and joined a friends game while my mic and sound is disabled.
It worked without an issue. While I was in the match I simply turned the sound and my mic back on and I was able to play without a crash.
Just wanted to let you all know that this was the workaround which worked for me.
Hope it helps :)
Thank you for letting us know that doing this has worked for you.
If you need further help please let us know.

Hey! sorry to hear that you are experiencing this issue. Did you try changing your Windows sound from 7.1 to Stereo as others advised above?

I figured out that this method fixed crashing for me and I can finally play online with my friends without a problem!
Go to Control Panel>Sound>Properties>Default Format> And put the lowest soundbitrate
16 bits 48000 for example.
That fix the problem for me and all friends who also had the online crashing problem :)
If you need help, comment on my profile!
Have fun.

Please gives us the OLD version back, at least until you fix this mess!
