How do I make a trade agreement ?

I have a mission to make a trade agreement with Denmarck, ok sure no problem, loved too, but how ??? I made a merchand, ran him all the way over the marked city from the mission scroll, but I can't freaking click on the town with my merchand. How do I do this thing... help please.

You have to use a diplomat, and send him to the same city marked in the mission. Diplomats can be trained from towns.

A diplomate... You'd think a merchand would of been what you needed to establish a trade agreement...

It isn't a private trade route or lane or something like that. It is a trade agreement where both Nations agree to allow free trade between them. I don't think a private merchant working for you secretly (as it often says and implies) has the power for it, plus you don't want it to be discovered.
