SSHIP cant start "medieval 2 encountered an unspecified error"

i followed the instruction and use LAA on the medieval2 and kingdoms launcher but it wont start and always show a message "medieval 2 encountered an unspecified error" please help

Have you installed any other mods, or unpacked any files to the main directory?

Try a clean install. Wipe medieval 2, delete the folder from steam, install fresh, install mod

That's the generic error message. Best to ask at the SSHIP webpage what might have gone wrong.
Could be a corrupt download, incorrect installation, maybe a leftover custom startup.

How did you fix this? Think I made the same mistake over a previous "custom" mod setup - base game will not work now either

Never follow installation advice that requires you to rename a DLC folder....
