I did see it on Rome 1 while the faction was still alive, and yes in Empire upwards the original nation can come back as rebels, yet it was strangely never in Medieval 2 from what I know. But it also isn't just you conquer a home province and they can come back. As I said in my previous post, I had taken Antioch as the Byzantines around turn 20, and due to the amount of time it had been occupied it must have got some kind of Byzantine cultural stamp so when the Mongols invaded and took it there was a Loyalist revolt after two turns. Quite handy, seeming though no one wants the ---ing Mongols to take root and breed (in the game, no offence meant to real life Mongolians)
