Very hard lags in a battle map. How may fix it?
Hello everyone. I have very hard lags in game. What a problem it may be?

I tried: Update a graphical driver, reinstall windows, reinstall a game. But it all was nothing :(

Must notice that I playing RTW 2 with high settings and it run great. So my system is more better than MTW2 is needed.

That the unlogical crap is that?

I have i5-3330 3.0 Ghz , GTX 470, Windows 7 x64 ultimate

I already updated all drivers but it was no result. Are there allowed that fix in this text? I just can't see that.

Are you sure your computer is using your GTX 470 for this game? I looked in my NVIDIA Control Panel and found that my computer was using the CPU's integrated graphics instead of my powerful graphics card for some games. I was then able to chang them to my powerful graphics card in the NVIDIA Control Panel. :D

Update all of your computer drivers. There are freeware sites that will check for them all for you.

I don't know about "CUDA". I only know that I choose the settings in the NVIDIA Control Panel, where I choose "Manage 3D Settings", and within this, I choose "Program Settings", and then I choose "Medieval II: Total War".

I have the same problem. I use to play Medieval 2 without Steam (Gamersgate install) and it ran just fine. Now everytime I try to play it on Steam it's laggy/stutter as heck - even when I'm only looking at two units on screen! The same thing goes for Rome 1 on Steam for me.

Rome 2, on the other hand, runs great! It makes no sense at all.

wow. some very stupid advice in this thread. This game was released in 2006. I highly doubt it's driver related

Just try lowering shadows to medium.

I had the same problem. Was getting 10-15fps in battle map. Turned shadows down and the framerate went through the roof.

Are you using SLi?

After getting frustrated with my battle lag I suddenly decided to turn off my second card and take a chance with another large battle.

...Voila! Medieval 2 running smoothly for me. Hope this helps, as simple as it might be.
