Yeah, just wanted to offer another optionm seeing as it's from the creators of the mod, and also contains instructions for fixes and relevant steps for various conditions and software
Okay, no cavalry? So what?
Just spam Vault Wardens and watch the AI charge onto them.
If they don't charge, just walk... up... slowly... in a spear wall.
Archers you say? Shooting my men you say?
Well, shoot 'em back! Bring along about four ballistas in a full stack and you'll have enough artillery to not only kill 'em, but also make 'em rout.
Iron Crossbowmen aren't very good... but I always just use Ballistas.
And my only usage of Dale Cavalry was to mop up routing units so I could get more money or increase my general's chivalry :P
Oh, and economy?
You're not building enough mines mate ;)
What this guy said XD
Also, it's a bit hard with the dwarves coz of the distance between each half of the empire, so taking over new settlements can be hard due to unrest, but the infantry is so op that it removes the need for cavalry, especially with Dale cavalry helping out
The one problem is that you have a MASSIVE supply chain. To get units to Carn Dum you need to get them from Erebor. Anything else simply doesn't have the building capacity.
Or you use my tactic, which is to simply amass such a large army in the first place you don't need a supply chain. :P
Converting settlements like Carn Dum takes AGES....
but when you get your hands on Moria, it's Game Over for any factions you're at war with....
Guards of Khazad-Dum are utterly OP (I decided to give them 2 hitpoints as well, because I'm just that kind of person :P)
Yeah, what I do about the supply chain issue is create 2 huge armies, a primary and secondary. I usually do one siege with the secondary close to the first, like attacking Goblin Town, and sending the main to Moria.
Then I resupply the main one if there's an emergency, and I leave enough units to hold a settlement and I have all the time I need to replace the sent units for the secondary army.
I use this for elves and dwarves due to how long it takes for training and the costs.
I always find the converting problem annoying, as if the dwarves took over an evil settlement, there's no civilians in the first place remaining haha. I think conversion for good factions should be quicker if it's from an evil ones, and I think to balance this all evil factions should have default fear present in all occupied settlement from good factions.
The funny thing is, the Mordor AI goes "One Ring? What do we want that for?" :P And since the garrison is insta-destroyed, I just sent my units all over the place to get the settlements. Gondor beat me to Minas Ithil, but I bought it off them for 50,000 as my money was going up by ~20,000 per turn. :P
DaC takes the cake for nicking settlements.... Because Gondor always gets steamrolled, I'm now in control of East Emmnet, Minas Tirith, Pelagir, and a bit more to the West. :P Harad is next to be steamrolled, and I needn't bother about Mumak (Grapeshot is OP :P)
But since all armies rebel in DaC, Gondor still hasn't managed to take a settlement as these full rebel stacks stuffed with Olog-Hai are walking around :P
