Camera stuck on General.
When i am in a battle sometimes i will double left click on a unit. This for some reason then transitions my camera to look at my general and then doesn't let me move the camera out of the General's range, forcing me to always look at him. I don't how to set the camera back to normal. how do i fix this?

The [Ins] (insert) key focuses the camera on your general, and pressing it a 2nd time goes back to normal camera mode.

The [Del] (delete) key focuses the camera on a unit that you have selected, and pressing it a 2nd time goes back to normal camera mode.

There is also a game option on the game options screen, to make your camera always focus on your general. You can switch that off again to allow free movement of the camera.

4 years later?

Guess he means that you can change the type of camera in the options\game settings menu. You got three cameras to choose from, one of them is the 'general camera'

A bit further down is a tick box to enable restriction of the camera, clearing that box will allow roaming over the battle field for the non general camera settings.

wow cool but that has nothing to do with the fact he randomly went into general camera thing

I believe I answered the question asked: 'how to fix it?'

Where in the 'how to fix it' sentence is there anything about 'how did it happen?'
