And there are lots of other mods out there for M2TW, like TWCenter: https://www.twcenter.net/forums/forumdisplay.php?556-M2TW-Kingdoms-Hosted-Modifications
One turn takes about 45-60 seconds, and there were moments I waited for another turn and then I handled the campaign map in 15 seconds, then I clicked to get another turn and I had to wait again.
But overall it was a pleasant experience, too bad Medieval 2 mods crash that often...
Stability wise it´s up to the mod I had some splendid 200+ turns campaigns with mods but you best ask the author of the mod you play over discord, twcenter or here. Often a campaign can be saved or at least the bug can be fixed for future campaigns.
Also, can I just copy-paste this file into my main folder and forget about it? Will it work that way?
Short answer: yes, it does fix it and no, simply copying will not help, you need to make the main game mod compatible.
You can do that by installing my desktop shortcuts and then playing the main game as well as the DLCs through them.

I have been modding this game for over 15 years and still cannot prevent my mods from crashing occasionally. By this time however it's due only to hardware stuff or some really esoteric game situation - but it still happens.
Delayed turn times are an indication of a complex campaign script, more like a hallmark of 'good' mods. Extensive delays however don't qualify as 'good' - that's usual sloppy coding.
P.S. I believe Steam won't count those played hours if I use your shortcut, am I right?
You could simply change the game's language to English to remove the remainder of the local language.
