Going to have a guess at On Line Battles.
There are three forms of multiplayer, so the term is unhelpful.
Guess the other two:
PBEM
HS
:)
SS is a good mod. Many good changes, AI is better all around, better graphics, bug fixes, character development, logistics, loads of factions, units units units, music. Just about every mechanic of the game has been improved for the better. Plus many new ones added.
It all comes at a price though. SS pushes Mtw2 to the limit and it is bulky. Loading between turns is a nightmare. Not only that but all the new stuff can be a bit overwhelming to take in. It is more hardcore in terms of realisim. Gift and a curse. After awhile I found it to be not fun anymore. Really, the only game breaking aspect of SS is the long turns, I would have enjoyed it much more if they were reasonable.
There are many other mods that add bits and pieces of what SS has to offer and they do not cause your CPU, or you, to melt from compiling scripts.
guys you can fix the turn times with the bugfix update, it fixes the turn times and it's a lot faster. its awesome. http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?640913-Bug-Fixes-for-SS6-4-DO-NOT-POST-ANY-BUGS-IN-HERE&p=13723098&viewfull=1#post13723098
Also, Greek Firethrowers.
This might seem trivial but I LOVE those... that said, I don't know if the rebalancing and improvements are worth that.
Besides... I find my early games in SS to be GRUELING when compared to vanilla. I don't know why but I'm constantly throwing militia at well trained armies in SS and that gets... tiring.
EDIT*
Looks like you still can. Neat. :)
