Total War: MEDIEVAL II - Definitive Edition

Total War: MEDIEVAL II - Definitive Edition

Medieval 3 will likely never come soon, if ever
The scale of Medieval 3 would be far too much than what Creative Assembly is willing to do. They refuse to update and use a new engine, and have been using Warscape and essentially Rome 2's engine for over a decade, all of its flaws still present in games like Warhammer and Pharaoh.

The reason Pharaoh flopped, while Warhammer continues to sell, is one reason. They have the Warhammer IP and legions of their fans eager to fork over 20 dollars every five minutes for drip fed DLC, and legions of scummy youtubers like Andy's Take to promote it endlessly. Pharaoh is exactly the same as Warhammer, with a smaller scale, less content, and no famous IP behind it. And it failed. This Star Wars Total War is CA essentially taking the mask off finally, and do what they've always wanted to do: half baked titles with someone else's intellectual property to use. They don't need to worry about "historical" fans, because they're all long gone now, either playing older titles, or different franchises such as Paradox. All that's left is the warhammer fans, and now legions of naive Star Wars fans, who are notorious for throwing money at absolute garbage.

The days of real time tactics and creativity in Total War is long gone. Your only hope now is a serious competitor to make a game that will attract an audience.

For real, what i'm hoping for is another Game Studio that takes on with the real time tactic genre. For example Humankind for Civilization (Civ is a great game, the reason for Humankind kinda flopped) or Cities Skylines to Sim City (better example because the genre was simply dead like in our case)

It is difficult to get the game to a status like medieval 2, we maybe got the best game ever in this genre here and it's 20 years old.

I'm sure Creative Assembly simply CAN'T do a Medieval 3 or even a total war that comes close to Med 2 - it has to be the job for another game studio to bring competition to the genre, or else i see us playing Med 2 modded in 2030.

Maybe have a look at this.
They need to make that into Knights & Kings
Pharaoh and Warhammer are not the same, the gameplay of warhammer has much more depth as a battle is not only fought with archer/footmen but with wizards, dragons, monsters on top of it all. It simply has much more depth, if you get bored playing one faction? You switch to another one which has a completely different set of mechanics and unit types. That's the magic of total war warhammer. Pharaoh is similar gameplay across all factions. The problem is, how do you improve significantly on medieval 2 and warhammer which are the two golden games of the genre? Well they've been brilliantly failing at that.

I Don't think we need Medieval 3. Almost 100% sure it's gonna be like Med 2 but with more cartoonish graphics, worse animations, sky-high system requirements, and downgraded mechanics. Or maybe im wrong and there is a chance for a miracle that CA will make Med 3 with a quality of Shogun 2
