Total War: MEDIEVAL II - Definitive Edition

Total War: MEDIEVAL II - Definitive Edition

Everyone, do you have any news about the remake of Medieval 2 Total War?
We all know that everyone is eagerly anticipating a remake of Medieval 2 Total War. Such calls have always been heard. Now in 2024, expectations for a remake of Medieval 2 Total War are still ongoing. For example, for me, so I want to ask if there is any latest news or anything else about the Medieval 2 Total War remake. Because I am from Chinese Mainland. As a Chinese, I don't know English or how to post. So I have to ask here.

More likely Medieval 2 Remastered isn't happening.
SEGA is refocusing the TW strategy as sales didn't do well in Europe and Rome Remastered seems to have done just ok.

Is this true, friend? That means it's not impossible for the Medieval 2 remake this year, is it?

If you mean Medieval 3 the rumor is whatever historical game is next will NOT be Medieval (Despite this being the #1 request from the community for years).

I also doubt there will be a Medieval 2 remaster anytime soon because the Rome Remaster didn't sell well. But if they do a remaster it will be a port of the Mobile version made by Feral. They did a mediocre job porting Rome Remastered IMO so I don't think this would be a good thing.

Not impossible but more unlikely as sales are better for the iPhone and Android version of Medieval II.

warhammer still standing strong compared to historical series. even the recent ones failed . so there is no chance of getting a remake since it wont profit them

Not everyone is eagerly waiting for a Medieval remake. Especially since the current devs have turned the Total War series into complete garbage. Which just means a remake will be garbage.

CA is done for, i dont think they have the capacity to do a ME 3. And if they turn it into some "saga" BS, there will be hell to pay.
ME3 and Empire 2 would be very welcome games, but look what CA is doing, they waste millions on that idiotic hyena game, the last full historic(kinda) game was 3 Kingdoms, long time ago, and now that useless Pharao game, a Troy reskin for quick money, was an absolute flop, like the definition of bad release. They are totally out of touch with the community.

Also there are more and more rumors or leaks about the increasing "technical debt" of their engine... they dont have the time and funds to fix all the problems in the engine, so there will always be only stop gap fixes. And now with CA going downhill, hemorrhaging money, they will not be able to now fix this either.

In light of all this, a new "full" historic game,... i dont know how they would pull it off. A ME3 or Empire 2, that would be a ton of work, they can not recycle anything from the last games.

And a simply ME2 remaster... well i would not be surprised if they do that, because they need money, and that quick, and ME2 is still popular.

My friend, up to now, I don't expect CA to release any sequels. My only hope is for him to remake Medieval 2 Total War.

No game will please everyone, such as the GTA trilogy. In fact, the GTA trilogy did not please everyone, and even many people were indignant there. But even so, they didn't have a choice and bought a trilogy, like me. In fact, I have played an old version of the GTA trilogy, but I prefer the new one. Similarly, after getting used to the remake of the Total War of Rome, if I were to play the original version again, I would be very uncomfortable.

No, what I'm talking about is a remake of Medieval 2 Total War. Not Medieval 3. At this point, we cannot expect CA to release Medieval 3. I hope he can quickly remake Medieval 2 Total War before it's finished. Look at the hunting dogs and pharaohs. Many pharaohs are not optimistic about it. People in Chinese Mainland and China all think that the Pharaohs' all-out war is not good. However, it has been proven that no one cared about the era of the pharaoh at all. I once said this to others, I said. It would be better for you to create the Achaemenid dynasty of the Persian Empire, which is the era of Cyrus the Great, than to play with some pharaoh. During the reign of Emperor Cyrus the Great, there were many people who were more well-known and interested.

Think about playing games from the time of Cyrus the Great and experiencing the process of his establishment of the Persian Empire. Think about how fulfilling it must be. That's the Achaemenid dynasty, brother. And anyone who comes into contact with history knows about the Persian Empire, Parthian Empire, and Sassanid Empire. Who is interested in the pharaoh? Isn't it good for me to play the Achaemenid dynasty? More importantly, brother, to be honest with you, everyone knows more or less about the countries that existed during the reign of Emperor Cyrus that have been exposed to history. For example, the Kingdom of New Babylon. I think everyone basically knows about the Kingdom of New Babylon. But what about the pharaoh?

I even told others in China, why doesn't his CA produce a game from the reign of Cyrus the Great instead of producing a pharaoh? Who was interested in that era? You, like the Seven Kingdoms period, can also be considered an obscure history. Not particularly popular. After all, there is a history of being unpopular and popular, and many countries in history have done the same. However, the powerful Achaemenid dynasty of the Persian Empire was indeed a highly renowned country. Even if you haven't heard of it, you can still name Persia by these two names, such as Persian Cat and Persian Prince. But it's the pharaoh. Brother, I really don't understand what they think.

Agreed!

I won't be surprised that if current CA does make a Medieval III, what we'll be getting would essentially be little more than a glorified Attila reskin. :steamsad:
