SEGA is refocusing the TW strategy as sales didn't do well in Europe and Rome Remastered seems to have done just ok.
I also doubt there will be a Medieval 2 remaster anytime soon because the Rome Remaster didn't sell well. But if they do a remaster it will be a port of the Mobile version made by Feral. They did a mediocre job porting Rome Remastered IMO so I don't think this would be a good thing.
ME3 and Empire 2 would be very welcome games, but look what CA is doing, they waste millions on that idiotic hyena game, the last full historic(kinda) game was 3 Kingdoms, long time ago, and now that useless Pharao game, a Troy reskin for quick money, was an absolute flop, like the definition of bad release. They are totally out of touch with the community.
Also there are more and more rumors or leaks about the increasing "technical debt" of their engine... they dont have the time and funds to fix all the problems in the engine, so there will always be only stop gap fixes. And now with CA going downhill, hemorrhaging money, they will not be able to now fix this either.
In light of all this, a new "full" historic game,... i dont know how they would pull it off. A ME3 or Empire 2, that would be a ton of work, they can not recycle anything from the last games.
And a simply ME2 remaster... well i would not be surprised if they do that, because they need money, and that quick, and ME2 is still popular.

Agreed!
I won't be surprised that if current CA does make a Medieval III, what we'll be getting would essentially be little more than a glorified Attila reskin.
