a fatal graphics error occur when playing Medieval 2 Total War on Lenovo Legion Go - Fix 2024

I tried playing this old game on the Lego and got a huge error message. Turns out that its the screen resolution settings that needs to setup on Medieval 2 folder. However the file, medieval2.preference.cfg is missing! I have verified the installation integrity but Steam shows all 1070 files fully integrated. Lucky for you-

Just transfer the file to your steam common directory example:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Medieval II Total War

I have set the file to 2560 x 1600 resolution. If you still receive the error message, that means you need to edit the file to your preferred resolution. You can edit the file using notepad.

The CFG file gets generated when the game exits, it's not present after download the game, which obviously is a catch 22 situation here.

Thank you so much I have been trying to get this game working for over an hour. Quick question though did you mod the game files too? I ask this as I can use the touchscreen to select units and use building options
