The issue is caused by a change in the way macOS Sonoma handles video files. We have attempted a temporary fix for the issue by disabling video playback for users on macOS Sonoma, but are aware that there are a few video files that have not been affected by our fix. The videos that have not been impacted by our temporary fix are stored in a separate file location to the main videos.
It is likely that the issue will remain until we release our full update for the game to fully resolve the underlying issues with video. We have a workaround that should help you play in the meantime, which involves deleting the additional video files manually:
- Open Steam
- Right click the game in your Library
- Select Properties > Installed Files > Browse
- Go to Medieval2Data > localised > en > data > fmv > event
- Delete all of the video files from this folder by dragging them to the Trash
- Launch the game again
This should disable all of the extra videos in the game and will allow you to play.
Please also contact our support team via support@feralinteractive.com to be kept informed when the full update is available.
