Total War: MEDIEVAL II - Definitive Edition

Total War: MEDIEVAL II - Definitive Edition

Europa Barbarorum 2
Hello guys, not sure if this has been posted anywhere or if there is anything that would provide answers but long story short I downloaded the mod and I can't seem to get it to work, it'll launch, I can play campaign, but when it comes to battles it will crash. It is to my understanding the latest version is 2.35A R3.5, I can download version 2.35 if I look hard enough but most links are dead, the 2.35A patch I can't seem to find any working links anywhere but I can download the R3.5 without looking around too long. I think my issue is because I can't download the 2.35A patch but I can't download it anywhere because the links are dead. So if there is any information that anyone would have more of pertaining to this particular issue I would be most grateful as I am at a loss.

Did you change the mod's directory name? If so - that would explain it, some path references are absolute\fixed to that name.

Working patch link here (checked only torrent, well seeded): https://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?810596

Main download links (none checked): https://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?791590

I think I might be out of the loop, I haven't downloaded mods for Medieval 2 in quite some time and as well on Steam, I've downloaded other mods like Stainless Steel 6.4, SSHIP, and MEDM 1191 so I referenced that and installed EB2 the same way. Silly question but how would I change the directory of the game if it's installed there?
Gigantus 22 JUN 2023 a las 19:55
EBII is designed to run from it's BAT file (in the mod's root directory) like any other mod. the BAT file in turn gets it's info from the CFG file that is there as well.
Open the CFG file with Notepad and check for this entry:
[features] mod = mods/EBII
In the above case the mod's directory name is EBII - change the directory name accordingly to what you find and run the mod from the BAT file (run it\double click). Make a desktop shortcut from it by right clicking the BAT file and choosing 'send to\desktop'

Yeah everything seems to be in order in the CFG file. I think it might be that I wasn't able to download the 2.35A patch. When I try to use the torrent link it comes up as blank, not sure why it would appear blank to me. I do apologise for being so incredibly lost here. I am going to re-download the mod fresh and try to patch it correctly, think that may be my issue. Is there perhaps a third party application that I would need to download from the torrent on the TWC thread?
Gigantus 23 JUN 2023 a las 19:54
If memory serves at TWC you will get the small torrent file which you then run with a torrent client like BitTorrent

Have you applied LAA to the medieval 2 executable? Before I applied that my game would crash constantly with EB2

go to google then type 4 gb patch medieval 2, download that from ntcore or whatever then click on it, select your medieval 2.exe and kindgoms.exe. Then it should work.
The Orange Man 26 JUN 2023 a las 13:04
Hmm, I did not apply anything like that. Does that come with the mod? Also, what is LAA?
Eagles2025 26 JUN 2023 a las 13:04
Large address aware
Eagles2025 26 JUN 2023 a las 13:05
it makes it so medieval 2 can get the ram it needs to run heavy mods.
The Orange Man 26 JUN 2023 a las 13:06
Okay, thank you for that information, I'll be giving that a shot.
Gigantus 26 JUN 2023 a las 20:36
LAA (4GB Patch): https://ntcore.com/?page_id=371

Apply to both executable files
Eagles2025 26 JUN 2023 a las 21:15
yup what Gigantus said.
The Orange Man 28 JUN 2023 a las 12:35
Silly question perhaps, but how would I go about applying the LAA to the executable files?
Matty-2542 28 JUN 2023 a las 12:58
Simply run LAA then select the Medieval 2 executable. Then repeat the process for the Kingdoms executable. I'm sure there will be a guide on Youtube, its very straightforward
