Third Age sound problem please help
Hey guys having a weird problem with the third age mod. When I start a battle in TATW the battlefield sounds are mute. Why could this be happening? I am running it on windows 10 and everything works fine and I can hear the voices and trumpets, but cant hear the battlefield noises like marching, explosions, etc. I already uninstalled and reinstalled and its still happening! Please help guys I really love this mod and its an annoying problem.

Ok so it turns out i have the same audio problem with my Medieval 2, the kingdoms dlc, and all my mods so far except for westeros age of petty kings mod. Is the age of petty kings mod the reason for my audio problem with everything else?? Please help guys this is an annoying problem! Worst comes to worst i'll just uninstall my medieval 2 completely and reinstall but I wonder if theres another way.

Looks like you are missing some sound files. Before re-installing try this: delete the M2TW\data\sound folder and then verify your files. That should restore the original files.

He's talking about Third Age TW, not vanilla.

Last time I checked, you don't install Third Age in your vanilla folders.

most everything iv'e ever modded still uses base game sound effects,so that may be what he means

The sound files contained in a mod's data\sound folder only consist of custom files (added or edited references in the TXT files), all referenced default files are in the main game's folder.
Having a large number of default sounds missing points straight to a problem with the default files.

It does get convoluted at times...

Like a missing entry in text\names causing a crash of the battle editor
