Stainless steel SSHIP submod
I already have the original stainless steel mod installed and have it in a folder.
When I install the submod. (which is a standalone submod) It asks me to replace the folders. Should I replace them or no?

Simply rename the Stainless Steel folder ** before installing it. Then adjust the desktop shortcut for it accordingly.

** Right click the desktop shortcut for SS, click 'open file location' to get there.

so all I have to to do is rename stainless steel folder, download the SSHIP folder, drag it into the mods folder and thats it?

Install the latest version of the mod here : https://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?815355-SSHIP_098-April-7th-2022-for-testing (You don't need any previous version of the mod, this is a standalone version) You'll have to put the extracted folder in your "mods" folder, change your screen resolution in the configuration.cfg of SSHIP folder - You will then have to make a copy/paste of "medieval2.exe" in your M2TW folder and rename this copy "kingdoms" - Finally, use the "SSHIP 098 launcher.bat" in SSHIP folder to launch the mod. (If needed, there is a better explanation than mine on the thread)

Just for reference: the easy way to fix the 'kingdoms.exe not found' issue (copy\rename executable):

luckily It doesn't undue that but thanks

I linked to it in case someone else reads this thread and isn't familiar with a computer. the little 'installer' does the stuff for you, if you have done it already then there is no harm.

Cannot find the kingdoms.exe or medieval.exe executable. It won't start. Any solutions? I have the steam version, unrared the game into mods folder, then copied medieval2.exe into the mods folder, renamed it to kingdoms, but still it doesn't start

make a copy of med2exe and rename it kingdoms
Eagles2025 Dec 11, 2022 @ 3:46pm
then it should work

Doesn't work. Right now, launcher.bat opens the Medieval 2 vanilla and sslauncher.exe says that it cannot find Kingdoms and asks me if it is in M2TW folder.

I have extracted SSHIP into SS6.3 folder and replaced files

I have the steam version

For a weird reason it runs the game if I run sslauncher.exe AS AN ADMIN!!!

"Cannot find the kingdoms.exe or medieval.exe executable. "

Wrong directory - needs to be M2TW\mods\SSHIP (or similar at the end). Simply move (cut%paste) accordingly and create a new shortcut.
