EB is SUPER buggy, crashes are apparently "normal" at this stage in development.

I have played 200+ turns as 3 diff faction(not rome yet) and no crashes at all. I did do a fresh install to play EB2 tho. I expected a ctd when I took some capitals and wiped out factions as theres unfinished scripts in there, but nadda.

I've gotten maybe four crashes. Three in the faction select screen, and one randomly during a turn as the Indian faction who's name I don't remember.

"EB is SUPER buggy"

Yeah, no. Not really.

Certainly there will be bugs, given that it's a beta release, and some people are having problems, naturally...but, it's a very stable beta all things considered.

Installing onto a clean well-functioning, updated, and maintained system, and careful attention following the directions usually takes care of most of the issues…

But there's a thread on TWcenter with useful troubleshooting references for people with installation or crash issues.

yea i think the issue i was having had to do with running it in full screen any of you guys run gem mod with EB2 ?
lowenklee Sep 2, 2014 @ 10:30pm
I'm not sure about the full-screen bug...it's worked fine for me so far on a less than ideal system/arrangement, but it's all well maintained and seems to be running without issues.

I'm using the GEM mod, Forced Diplomacy mod, Faster Battles mod, and the AI patch...a few hundreds turns spent in the game so far and haven't had any crashes.

really man ? i'm hoping i have better luck man really want to play as rome and everytime i enter a battle it crashes. I know its me with the issue i seen quite a few people are in 100 plus turns.

does eb2 have a sub mod thread yet ?

If you use the mod launcher for M2:TW which comes for example with EBII if you are a Steam-User.

Rename the d3d9.dll to d3d9.dllx before starting the launcher. GEM is also applied to the launcher somehow. Forgot to mention that. Before starting the game from the launcher, rename the d3d9.dllx again to d3d9.dll. If anyone was having this issue this is the fix

Nice, glad you got it sorted out. No sub-mod thread yet...I think the admin is dealing with computer issues for the time being.
New issue caused by today's mini patch from steam - EB2 wont launch for me at all
dwringer Sep 6, 2014 @ 10:01am
Haven't had issues from the recent patches, but when I first went to install EB2 my M2TW installation was completely broken due to a past failed auto-update. (I guess).

I had to delete all the game files and install it from scratch, because auto-verify crashed every time I tried to do it,a nd when I tried to launch the game I got a mysterious 'depot' configuration error (Depots are configured by Steam and by the Developers AFAIK). The fact that so many have had this issue makes me think all those affected may be better off just doing the above - wipe/reinstall the game.

As an aside... am I the only one who can't find Velites anywhere in the Roman roster? Were they simply deemed unnecessary with the Leves and half a dozen merc/cultural Skimrisher units? Or am I blind?
It's not patches plural, it's whatever they did in today's extremely small download. It seems to have caused a problem with the launcher.exe file which EB2 uses to launch the mod, mine is zero KB and just causes a windows message about it not being able to run on my PC. There's no thread about it on the EB2 forum so I assume it's an unusual problem which may or may not be related to windows 8.1.

I didn't have that problem with the recent patches, which includes the single patch from today. If you have a corrupted file, try to right click on the gamein your library, select Properties, go to the Local Files tab, and select Verify Integrity of Game Cache.
