Will probally be a bit more than that, keep in mind he is actually at war with the papalcy, not just excomunicated. Once a ceasefire is accomplished then yes, those will get him reconciled (no longer excomunitcated), but the at war itself, prevents that.
Your diplomats, have thier work cut out for them, as you need to offer ceasefires, and your going to have to make them enticing. A hefty bribe, or giving them a castle may be required. Until then, all you can really do is avoid fighting any of thier allies, build churches (which as denmark you should do anyway, since your norse battle clerics are produced by them), and whatever else you can do to build papal favor back up.
