Likewise, if you do not have more than 2gb of RAM then LAA will not do a lot either.
Next to that, if it's an end turn crash then use the toggle_fow to see which faction crashes the game (toggle_fow slows it down so you can see it better)
Sometimes, having the toggle_fow will fix the issue. If it doesn't. Check to see if that faction is besieging a settlement. Mostly, it is a Mordor that causes these issues attacking a Cair Andros or a Osgiliath.
The issue of the crash is that some settlements get free troops upon being attacked. When those troops rout during the battle, the game crashes. As in, those troops aren't properly deleted by the script. This is fixed in the latest DaC 4,5 after someone found it either by accident or looking really hard into the problem.
The way to fix this for TATW 3.2 is to move the besieging army away using ~show_cursorstat (for the new location) and ~move_character "charactername" "show_cursorstat coordinates".
So, you should get something like ~show_cursorstat [enter] 231,482
Then ~move_character "Problemarmy" 231,482 [enter]
It will then move an army away from the settlement.
Keep in mind, that if you do this for an enemy army attacking you, they will still attack the next turn, I don't know why this is but that is what I have experienced using it to remove armies from my land.
Should this not fix the issue.
Then teleport one of your armies over to that location, again using the ~show_cursorstat and ~move_character and beat the problem army and then move the army back. To speed it up you could use the ~auto_win attacker [enter] and just autoresolve it with a unit of militia.
With this method you will need to go to war with the problem faction in order to fix it.

doesn't mention anything of the sort. pcgamingwiki is usually good for fixes and optimizations.
also Rome 1 TW doesn't mention LAA either which im pretty sure i didn't use in my playthrough years ago. only used d3d8.dll to fix the low fps issue which it does mention.
When that happens, the game simply crashes because it has run out if useable RAM, even if you have more available.
LAA tells the game it can use more than 2gb of RAM which solves a lot of, primarily, post-battle crashes.
