Search for "10.14" in there, and take out the surrounding blocks, which also have comments about blocking the game based on OS version, they should be obvious. Then run the game.
dose anyone know what exactly the surrounding blocks he referring to are
Players using a version of OS X before 10.14 can access a compatible version of the game via the Beta tab in the game’s properties window. Select the ‘mac_linux_gl-1.0.3' branch for a version that is compatible with 10.10.5 up to 10.13.6.
1. Launch Steam.
2. Right click the game in your Steam Library.
3. In the dropdown that appears, select Properties.
4. In the new window that appears, select the Betas tab.
5. In the Betas tab, click the dropdown and select ‘mac_linux_gl-1.0.3'
6. The game will update.
Navigate to the following folder:
Users > YOUR USERNAME > Library > Application Support > Feral Interactive > Medieval II Total War
[The user Library is hidden by default in macOS, so please refer to the following link if you are unable to locate it: http://osxdaily.com/2016/12/12/show-user-library-folder-macos-sierra/ ]
Delete the folder called: cache
Once this folder is deleted please try launching the game again.
I reverted Shogun II back to the beta version, but the mouse cursor is obtrusive (covering text) and I want the updated version that I paid for. I cannot find a CACHE folder anywhere within the DATA folder for Shogun II. I also cannot locate the file "Users/yourusername/Library/Application Support/Steam/steamapps/common/Medieval II Total War/Medieval II Total War.app/Contents/Resources/specifications.xml" (replacing the correct username and title for Shogun II / 2).
Can somebody help me with this process for Mac OS 10.13.6 without having to resort to a janky beta version?
If you're using an older version than the only way to play it is using the beta provided by Feral Interactive or to use a windows emulator.
You can also contact Feral Interactive yourself if you feel neither are reasonable and ask them for a solution.
That is called progress. Upgrade you rmacOS.
It works great on macOS Catalina.
