Report a translation problem
An increase in the base number is achieved by increasing the first value in the 'soldier' line in the unit's entry in the export_descr_units file.
Seeing that high unit size creates a mess in siege battle's pathfinding not many mods increase that number.
That said Third Age (and it's sub mods) has fairly large units, but then it also has custom settlements:

That's a boatload of work.
Next to that, 250 soldiers per regiment is max but you can get up to 253 soldiers (2 officers + flag bearer).
Not too mention the insane amount of pathfinding issues already existant with the current 120 unit sizes will be further exacerbated with the double unit sizes for smaller towns and castles.
