You will need this before the installation to make the mod Steam compliant:

After that follow this guide to install Stainless Steel:

i did all of that already, but for me it cant seem to find the kingdom.exe folder. how fix?

Same Prob here
You have to rename in the mod folder in your medieval total war folder (where also your SS mod installed is) one of the campaigns. For example: americas you rename to americas1 and your SS mod you rename to americas.
When you lance now the game and choose americas it will start Stainless Steel.
Plenty of YouTube vids also how to install it.

Please don't do the folder rename method - it's totally unnecessary.

@Shadow - and it's not the folder it looks for - it's the file. That gets fixed by the 'easy way' guide.

My suggestion - if you have manually created a kingdoms.exe file in your medieval ii total war main folder as described then delete it and afterwards use the 'installer' from the 'easy way' guide to create the kingdoms.exe file for you.

It's a long story about file extensions being hidden and duplicated because of it.

nope, haven't made a kingdom.exe folder manually, so thats not it

Obviously not - I am talking about the FILE, NOT the folder in the section addressed to you.

The mod requires a kingdoms.exe file to be present in the root folder (where the medieval2.exe file is). Simply use the installer linked in the 'easy way' guide to provide that file.

There should be installation instructions on their download site. To unzip the initial download use 7zip: https://www.7-zip.org/download.html

which one though? there are a lot of choices(im obviously bad with this type of stuff) technology just hates me TvT

Well, DaC just went stand alone to promote a better way of installing (doesn't seem to have worked so well by the looks of it) - ask them. I haven't really bothered to install it myself since then.

i requested an app to utilize but these aren't apps, they're assistant programs, what APP should i use

An App? To install an installer?

So much for DAC's much touted 'making installation easier'....
