Why no dismounted Templars?
I wonder if this is a balancing decision? Templars could and would fight dismounted, so it seems strange that the Kingdom of Jerusalem (which is lacking real 'shock troops' anyway) doesn't have any form of attack favouring dismounted Knight

I mean actual dismounted templars, like you have feudal knights and dismounted feudal knights. I'm still getting to grips with modding this game. For now I just set the unhorsed knights as recruitable and changed their display name/description

But they are in the game, dismounted knights of Jerusalem.

Perhaps this is just me being technical but the dismounted knights are described as 'vassal knights who owe service to the Kingdom of Jerusalem'. The Kingdom of Jerusalem was entirely separate to the Templar Order - it was its own Kingdom with its own Knights and society. In fact it first existed, as best as my knowledge extends, before the Templars were even formed.

Richard Lionheart reclaimed the so named 'Kingdom of Jerusalem' in the third Crusade with the assistance of the Templars - but Templars were never qualified as 'vassals of Jerusalem' nor would they be inclined, as far as history suggests, to give up the symbolism of their order and adopt the symbol of the Kingdom of Jerusalem. Particularly as templar cavalry still bears the red cross.

So my question is - why aren't there any knights templar (red cross symbol) who are dismounted? Templars may be included in Knights of Jerusalem, but the Knights of Jerusalem arent the same as Templar Knights therefore why are no Templars specifically dismounted?

Lol, Richard didnt reclaim the Kingdom of Jerusalem since he never took Jerusalem. He reclaimed some land that was de jure to the Kingdom but they subsequently lost it in the next offensive that Salahadin mustered.

As for the question...Look up the Crusade mercenaries.

Then take those units and make 'm available outside crusades.

You're right, he took parts of the Kingdom not the city itself. Go me badly remembering history
