it crashes so often, sometimes the error is the "graphics too high", sometimes it just crashes at the end of a battle with no report whatsoever other than "medieval 2 stopped working and will now exit". That's so annoying. I can't play 10 turns without a crash

Make sure you have 6.3 installed with the 6.4 patch AND the v1.27 hotfix.

And if all else fails; LargeAdressAware to allow the game to use more than 2gb of RAM.
