mods dont work

did definite edition change anything with the game?trying to play botet mod and it doesnt even start,im getting the chaos ctd.tried reinstalling mediveal 2 and the mod but i get the same results.

i have played a lot of botet before with no problems

That doesnt mean you have installed it correctly or have an uncorrupted version.

i have installed it correctly as per instructions and also pretty sure its not corrupted

The error clearly indicates the instructions were either wrong (highly unlikely, but refer to the above post) or you simply did not complete them correctly, likely by accident.

i will try to use winrar instead of 7zip,maybe 7zip corrupts my flies.

basically you unzip the mod folder and put it into mods folder,then double click the mods bat file.
simple and has worked before.
other mods work fine

That usually should work yeah. Problem is when the internet connection drops for a little bit it'll screw up your download if you did it in-browser.

My standard advice:

1. set the executable (medieval2\kingdoms) to win7 compatibility
2. enable admin rights in the compatibility setting
3. install Large address aware

i installed call of warhammer 1.5.1 painfree version and it works fine,i suspect my non torrent downloads get corrupted somehow

Always try toget a torrent. In browser downloads get ruined with even the slightest hiccup during download.

A download manager helps as well, but again isn't as reliable as a torrent.

Obviously the painfree version installed fine - after all the installer is done by me :p
