mods just wont work

every time i download and install a mod the way it i need to and try to load the game it tells me it cant find kingdoms.exe but i can load steam click libary right click medieval and load all the kingdoms

Make a copy of the "medieval ii" exe in your main directory, paste in a different folder and rename it "kingdoms" and then move it back to the main directory. Should make every mod that runs a batch file work.

so copy it outside of the steam folder?

Yes, mostly just so you don't confuse yourself by having two copies of the same file in the same folder. Speaking from experience here.

medieval II.exe and kingdoms.exe should be in the same folder at the end. You shouldn't have to type .exe at the end, or else you'll end up with kingdoms.exe.exe which will not work.

I've been recently trying out Total Vanilla Beyond in my spare time and I have really been enjoying it so far. Way bigger map, more factions everywhere, new mechanics for some of them too. http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?785966-Total-Vanilla-Beyond-3-0-Release-Once-more-with-feeling

Its cuz you need to launch a mod through the laucher that comes with the mod or the .bat inside the mod folder.....

If you launch through steam...you get vanilla
