Feudal knights start at level 3(heavy mail) and ends at level 4(partial plates)
Retinue longbowman start at level 2 to level 4, which makes them literally have partial plate as armor.
Italian man at art, and broken lances start at level 4 to level 5(full plate) to level 6 which is advanced plate armor.
Once again it just seems it's roughly + 2 per upgrade. The only thing armour level does is making sure a unit gets the right upgrade from the right building.
Retinue longbowmen get heavy brigandine not partial plate as their final armour upgrade. Although in game it's meant to give equally as much defense.
So pike militia literally have more armor than pikeman?
Like they get the same armor(level 3 chainmail armor) but pike militia get the padded armor upgrade while the pikeman don't.
Pike Militia have 0 Armor 1 Defense 7 Attack for their Primary, and 6 Attack for their secondary
Pikeman have 0 Armor 3 Defense 9 Attack primary, adn 8 attack secondary
What's so different, other than the Fully Upgraded Pikeman wears like Late Medieval Partial Plate Armor, while Pike Militia wears Mid Medieval Partial Plate Armor
Pike militia will have more armour in practice when fully upgraded yes.
