I had no trouble playing the mod.
You're not being that specific on the error you're getting though.
Where does it happen? What does the system.log say?
What have been your install methods?
All mods go to Medieval 2/mods. So even though you would dislike reinstalling Medieval 2, I think thats the first thingyou should do...manually delete the Medieval 2 folder, let steam reinstall the game.
Then use winzip/winrar/ 7zip on the BotET file you downloaded. Don't extract it into a different destination, just where you have that file.
Then when you open those folders, check if there isnt a subfolder. It could very well be that extracting it causes rhe folderstructure to be botet/botet/all files. That way it'll never run.
So, once ectraxted, take the botet/all files and copt that to medieval 2/mods.
Then go and find the medieval2.exe, copy this one and rename the copy to kingdoms.exe
That should start the mod no problem when you use the mods .bat.
1. Uninstall Medieval 2
2, Uninstall the folder kingdoms
3. Uninstall anything related to Medieval 2 Total war including Mods, but keep the zip files.
4. Restart PC
Once PC is restarted I will unzip BOTET and send it to desktop, then go to the mods folder and drag the BOTET folder to the medieval 2 mods folder. Before I do the install of course I will copy medieval 2 and create a copy and rename it to Kingdoms.exe
How does that sound.
BTW thank you so much for your help and patience. I hope I get this right.
