Thus you beat that siege and then they siege you again.
By the time the Mongols come you should've been able to upgrade most of your settlements to that level.
Fairly certain that doesn't work on the higher difficulties, whenever I sally out on Hard or Very Hard, the enemy immediately retreats to the very edge of the map, is the towers' range that large?
Simply be prepared to take heavy losses. If you're further away, let other factions bleed them dry.
Whoa that's a good idea. Sell off all your settlements that border The Mongols to The Papal States. Let The Mongols go nuts on the Papals. Let the Catholics deal with the Mongols whilst you run da hell away to America.
Damnit. The Mongols settle quite early into the game though. Currently, they have 3 cities in and around Anatolia. Is it wise to pre-maturely attack them?
Problem is I'm the Moors. No settlements in or around the holy land. I just have Africa and most of the Iberian peninsula. Have not discovered gunpowder so I don't even have Destroyer Camels (/camel gunners) yet
When they've settled down its the right time to attack. That means they're spread out instead of bunched up.
That said, if you're in Iberia why bother with the Mongols?
Won't they keep spreading until they have a massive empire, by which point they would overpower me?
No, their strength, when they arrive, is due to being clustered in a single group and having 7-8 command generals with 7-10 dread. Once they spread out they can be taken out by the AI which often happens due to their aggresive nature.
And yes, they will send multiple stacks because they have the multiple stacks. Hence they need to spread out. That way, they will incur losses and start putting their generals in cities, leaving their armies without generals.
Without generals, their armies are significantly weaker.
But as I said. If you're in Iberia then it's no use going to Anatolia to kill the Mongols. Often they ally with both the Turks and Egypt leaving themselves no room to grow.
