Total War: MEDIEVAL II - Definitive Edition

Campaign Camera Speed way too fast.
I have tried every setting that I can find in the menus and it is still too fast. Even when I try to use the wasd it still zips around at crazy speeds. Is there a fix for this. I really think I have tried everything.

You can adjust it, move the sliders to the left.
Options - Game settings

I am afraid that is only for the battle camera.

To manage the strat camera over long distances - zoom out or click on the radar map. Short distances - use the cursor keys, NOT the mouse at the screen edge

I might be late to the party on this, but I looked this up because I had the same issue. Found a workaround that worked for me.

The refresh rate of your monitor seems to be linked to how fast the camera moves. I had the refresh rate on 144 Hz, and turning it down to 100 Hz seems to work.

That's a novel approach - thanks and thumbs up.

any idea how to fix? my screen is 240hz and cant adjust. I lowered my max fps to 50 and still too fast

Then you're out of luck, 240Hz is way too fast. Usually you can adjust the refresh rate via the graphic control panel - accessible via right clicking anywhere on an empty spot on your desktop

Hi. could be too late for joining this but I solved it just activating vertical sync in graphics config. I believe that it is a problem on steam version becasue I owned this game since its release and now I have bought the steam ver. Never happened this to me with DVD ver.

Vertical syns helps, I think it's dependant on the graphic card type.

You BOUGHT the steam version after owning the CD? Sigh: https://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?688368

Hi Gigantus, thanks a lot fot the tip to convert the DVD version to steam one. Too late for me. Since my CD version is the m2tw from the release, not the gold edition. I bought M2TW Definitive edition from steam because it includes Kingdoms expansion. But After reading your post I have realized that, in addition, I have another DVD of M2TW collection that I bought years ago. This one includes Kingdoms, of course :(. Then, now I have my third copy of M2TW. It Will be part of my total war games collection on steam. :)

Regarding the Vertical sync, I solved it by try and error on graphics configs, but I forgotten to mention that in this equation there is new HW. RTX 3060ti. So... could be that this new little monster is messing arround my dear M2TW. Then it is not fair to blame Steam version.

Thanks chap

The fast cursor movement has been around ever since high screen refresh rates and fast graphic cards.

Try reducing your screen's refresh rate - that should have an impact as well. Not really recommended in the long run, just to illustrate.

Hi Gigantus. Thanks for that info. I kown you wanna mean about moduling parameters in Nvidia SW. I do activated VSinc just in game´s config. I know that you can limit the fps matching with your monitor´s max tx rate. But, since it worked for me in this particular case of HW, by now, I will keep going with configs for each game that is giving me problems instead of a global one (Nvidia SW).

Thanks chap, nice job in TW center and here.

One is glad to be of service

I meant vsync within the game's configuration - doesn't make sense to do it globally.

Activating v-sync solved this for me. Thanks!

Glad to hear it's still of use.

I'm hijacking this necropost to offer a possible solution to some people who have this problem. Like many users with 144Hz refresh screens, I suffered from the camera moving too quickly. None of the options here helped me, even when I set the frame rate to 60 on the Nvidia panel. What did help was setting the Vsync to: Adaptive "Half refresh rate or half frame rate" (I'm paraphrasing because mine is in Spanish "Adaptable-Mitad de frecuencia de fotogramas") This set the game to around 74 Fps instead of 144 which helped a lot. Hope this helps someone.
