Expanded Americas Crash on start.
I installed the mod in the mods/expanded_americas3.3 and whenever I start it, it crashes i've renamed the expanded_americas3.3 to americas and it still crashes. I've tried any method to start it and it doesn't work. I also don't see a kingdoms.exe anywhere but when I start from steam both Vanilla and Kingdoms work fine. At this point im asking for help in case im messing something.

First of all, are you using a desktop shortcut? Don't.

Secondly, kingdoms.exe is designed for the Non-Steam version (the Steam version doesn't have it, which is why desktop shortcuts tend to break horribly), so that explains why you don't have one.

Thirdly, in your mods folder, are there any folders like teutonic, crusades, british_isles, america?

Fourthly, do you have any "dirty" mods installed that overwrote the main game files? (I know of no mod that does this but you can install them incorrectly)

Fifthly, have you tried reinstalling the mod?

Sixthly, what's your OS?

Seventhly, are you an admin on your computer?

So I found the issue was in the custom installer the mod provider had made, I figured out that the part 2 needed to be installed in the data folder of the expanded_americas3.3 folder. After I did that I rename the americas folder to americasoriginal and made name expanded_americas3.3 to americas after that I had to take the medieval2.exe and put it in the expanded_americas3.3 (Now renamed to americas). Lastly I had to go to the steam installed list and right clicked on Medieval 2 and then clicked "Properties" then "Set Launch Options" in it I typed --features.mod=mods/americas. After that all I did was start it and clicked Vanilla and not americas and the mod started up just fine. The whole putting part 2 in the data folder and the medieval2.exe in the expanded_americas3.3 folder was never explained and I had to do alot of trial and error. I hope this helps anyone else trying to use this mod. Thanks for taking the time to try to help!

P.S. The game crashes if you take to long picking a faction in the menu so decide quickly!

Known bug; but if you take your time, cycling between factions slowly, you'll usually have a stable selection. Usually.
