Auto Battles
Is there some kind of rule or ratio where I should use auto battles for guaranteed success like when I have double their man power or if the morale bar is over 75% in my favor?

I use it in battles where I feel its lopsided, whether in numbers or weak useless units are in high numbers.

If it's 50-50 expect to lose. If it's in their favour, expect to lose, if it's 66% in your favour, expect to lose, if it's 70%+ in your favour, expect to lose.

Just always expect a loss with auto-resolving since unlike in Rome 2 and beyond it actually pays off to manually fight your battles instead of spamming spears and auto-resolve your way through legendary difficulty.

Command your own men. Even if it's 90% certain you'll win on an auto-resolve it'll take casualties from across all your units. Units that would not sustain casualties if you were playing yourself. I'd rather lose 20 infantry than have an auto-resolve take some of my artillery or cavalry.

If simply seeking success without wanting to fight it out, over 75% is a decent bet. I'd suggest up to 90% be fought out, just so you can get the practice for minimizing casualties to your own units (letting ya wage war longer) with the 10% being for cases where you couldn't be bothered to take out individual units or something. I'd personally fight them all for reasons mentioned above, though you do not have to fight it out to win. You'd simply win better manually.

I am spoiled - only fight with full stacks of at least 'good' units. Which means I auto resolve 80% of my fights.
And yes, auto resolve is hard on cav and artillery.
