Windowed mode [Nvm]
When I play SS6.4 (finally got it to work so I can see what all the fuss is about) yet the mod has windowed mode, thus, preventing me from using the left side of my screen entirely.

I just started up the vanilla to see if it has the same issue, which it doesn't, nor have I experienced this whilst playing TATW or its submod DaC.

I've found a file named default in the SS6.3 folder where it said windowed=true.

I changed this to false [windowed=false] which should fix problem right?

Edit: didn't do the trick

Edit2: had to switch to read only, this worked.

Have fun now you've fixed it, and beware plague - it's FAR more prevalent than in vanilla, possibly even more so than in Rome.
i hope you got the bugfix comp and G's steam bugfix, which is some files steam doesn't generate for some reason, they fix alot of little bugs
who did you pick to play?
troop morale plays a bigger role, because of reduced damage, armour upgrades are more effective to
any questions,ask away,it's my favourite med 2 subject (incase you hadn't noticed)

I just have plain SS6.3 with the 6.4 patch.

Picked England cuz why not and easy enough to get in. Economy is just ridiculous, tried Venice first, had 30k after 10 turns or so.

About 50-55 turns into the game, secured British isles, took the low lands and northern france, Norway left a town without a garrison, no idea why but landed there.

Faction leader had to go on crusade to Cairo, I went, plundered city, plundered alexandria and went to take a dump in Benghazi since a castle is a bit easier to maintain public order.

Aragon, France, Norway and Scotland all were like, that looks easy, till they all met their demise. Scotland no more, France was just crushed. Exterminated Paris because they assasinated a general that landed and that army was given it's rightous revenge.

So far, France has been taken the brunt, down to 3 regions, not sure how many Norway have left. They've got quite a force in Bergen that looks a bit...stronger than my rubbish force.
Aragon isn't in striking range, I don't bother with them till they sail to me. They're gonna wish they hadn't attacked me once I've chewed through France.

HRE suprisingly keeping itself nicely to the alliance, thus far.
clermont and toulouse is where the templars hang out, they can be handy for the english
the HRE will be luving what your doing,it's usually them taking the brunt of what you have
marry them, and they will be loyal little bunnies if you like

If you have windowed mode then your game resolution has to be at least the same as your desktop resolution, else you get a box, underneath an example set, goes into the [video] section of the CFG file:

movies = 1 # set to zero to stop intro movies windowed = 1 # allows for easy Alt+Tab, requires game video resolution the size of desktop or larger borderless_window = 1 # removes border from windowed mode battle_resolution = 1920 1080 # enter your desktop resolution campaign_resolution = 1920 1080 # enter your desktop resolution

SS6.3 has it's own file with video settings.

First place I looked, obviously, was the medieval2.preference which hadn't got a line about windowed mode. Thus I checked vanilla, it was bordered.

SS6.3 comes with a default file in the mod folder that has the windowed mode line and changed it there.

Have to say, battle AI in SS6.4 is less than the battle AI in DaC. It's the same battle AI as vanilla thus even with numerical and technological superiour forces the AI is eaily beaten.

My bad - I should have mentioned that it's the mod's CFG file you shoudl be fiddling with.
But then you should NEVER bother about the default CFG anyhow as it needs to be made read only for manual changes to remain. Which in turn makes it impossible for any in game changes in the options to be saved.
don't forget there are other AI sets and some other settings you can try
also it is still a bit of a cakewalk with most of the majors, try the kwarzi, cuman, tuetons, crusaders, byz etc for more of a challenge, once they are powerful it's still the same, but it can be pretty hairy getting there sometimes
oh,and you really might need those bugfixs for that as alot of fixs are for the minors, unsurprisingly, but if you gonna reset AI you can kill both birds with one stone
another thing,it can be alot easier to roleplay with SS,rather than just do the TW thing

Have to say, SS doesn't really tickle my fancy. For some reasons nations that I don't even closely border (like Novgorod and Lithuania, Portugal) think it's somehow worthwhile to send 1 ship to blockade a port far away from their own borders and then dislike me for taking it out.

Not even the AI in vanilla bothers with me if they're so far out and I've noticed some inconsistencies going on. Even with 2million heroic victories I haven't got a single general that's above 4 command, cuz why not I guess. So either command is bugged in SS or they've made it simply to hard to get, which is rubbish since the AI just throws several stacks at you. When you get 2 heroic victories in one turn and you don't gain a single command star, then something is wrong imo.

Too many units I also like to add I guess.

The only thing that's somewhat decent is that allies aren't interested in backstabbing you.

yeah, heard the command thing before and felt it myself
i'm not really sure what the problem is.but if you have schools, military acads and the like they can get heap stars quick, especially if they are young'ns.some factions do way better than others to (crusaders)
i think they may have screwed some balance aspect.although i don't like it,i'm actually not beyond giving them the star myself when it gets ridiculous
maybe G knows something about it

I've also encountered a bug where the game thinks that there's a spy inside a settlement, even though there isn't, since base unrest is 10% as far as I can see across the board) but yet everytime it's attacked, the gates are opened.
never noticed that one at all, which settlement?
Inardesco Oct 17, 2017 @ 2:10am
Benghazi. There was a Sicilian spy in there that opened the gates, even for Egyptian armies, despite the 2 being at war, and then I reruited my own spies that then found him. Base unrest is 10% and despite not going up the game still thinks there's a spy in there.

I've checked other settlements to see their base unrest and for castles it's 10% and cities it's 15% base unrest. Unless it's a native settlement offcourse.
yeah, that is strange, unrest goes up by about 25% when any foriegn spy enters normally and is used often by the AI to the point you need to keep your own spies in most settlements to prevent it
i have never noticed the bug,but i will keep an eye out, infact i'll have a poke around now
bugfix had some spy stuff, but i can't remember what that was now
