BUT.
The team behind Rise of Mordor, actually found a way to do something.
They can play with sea levels (and I think reliefs too), which means they came up with a worldmap that ressembles a lot what you find in LOTR.

Yup, you can't do much with the campaign map in the warscape engine.

Some people say westeros is only britain, or something like ireland flipped upside down. Have you searched for "map" in the artwork section? There's a couple of maps there.
