Technical Issue with GoT mod
Hello, I need help, I downloaded the mod (Newest version of GoT Enhanced) and installed it as every other mod for my steam version of M2: Kingdoms, extracted it and renamed it after the other Kingdom campaign. After that, I tried to run the game but after a second of loading screen it crashed with error - "Medieval 2 total war has encountered an unspecified error and will now exit".

I reinstalled the game but nothing has changed (Even re-downloaded the mod).

I am normally playing other mods like Third Age with MOS sub-mod too so I don't know what's causing the crash, I tried to google it but nothing helpful came up so here I am.

I think I maybe missed something in instructions of installing but I think I have everything right and really don't know what's causing the problem. I typed already on moddb site but I am reposting it here too and will update if it's get solved.

Best regards,
Filip Deer

Are you sure you didn't install a submod ?
Filip Deer Aug 26, 2017 @ 2:28pm
Newest version of the mod (Which is submod for Westeros) is standalone.

UPDATE: I tried also edit .bat file and start it directly but the same error showed up. I tried 4.7 version and that version works absolutely fine so I am very confused.

Well, despite it being a standalone, try installing the mod first, then the submod and see if that works.

Tried that aswell, but that isn't the case as I said before, older version of the mod is working so I am actualy very confused.

Weird, could it be that the newer version has a slightly different instal? DaC 1.2 for instance, has to be installed directly into the TATW folder whereas the previous DaC versions are installed in TATW/Data.

Negative, I saw some video tutorials how to install the mod, I have it installed right and still it doesn't work. I researched more and find out that I am not alone, but no one have solved this problem yet just like me so I think I am pretty much screwed until some patch in future, I pretty much lost any hope I had from this point. I can play the older version but there are some nice features missing...

My suggestion: join the discussion where you downloaded it (TWC?) - you are bound to get more detailed response. Last I heard it's still a sub mod, it's planned as a stand-alone at a later stage.

And no, there is no need for all that folder rename stuff:

As I said, I already typed at moddb (TWC Included by now). The sub-mod is standalone, I did my research, saw many video tutorials + including that fact that older version is working for me. Thanks for more ways how to start mods but it isn't working, same error.

It does indeed seem to be stand alone now. Just trying it myself, busy downloading.

Okay, by now I am again trying to uninstall every thing which has any connections to Medieval 2 + Mods

Giving up in general or just on this mod?

From what I can see all that is required is to place the RAR file into the M2TW\mods folder and unzip it there. Then create a short cut to the BAT file and run my guide - after that you can use the short cut.
I'll confirm once I have finished downloading and installing.

For good luck follow this article, just in case: http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?755286

Okay, it's actually working now! Thanks for the help.
I completely uninstalled Medieval 2 + Kingdoms and installed it again on a completely different disk. After that, I created the copy of Medieval2.exe and renamed it to Kingdoms.exe (By steam tutorial) and extracted mod to mods folder and run it by .bat. Besides that, I also did that thing with Win7 compatibility and administrator rights and it's working now! It's really strange because I did everything right :D Again thanks for the help and I hope it will get working of others with this problem too soon.

Great to see it worked. Installing it on another disk will have helped with the inherent virtual store issue (see here: http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=397636) whereas the compatibilty issue is something that effects only some operating systems.
